Welcome to the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) at Syracuse University

The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment:

• provides leadership in developing and implementing the University’s institutional research and assessment plan to support institutional planning, policy analysis, and program improvement.

• conducts and centrally coordinates research and assessment efforts for the University’s academic and administrative units, including the implementation and reporting for national studies.

• supports University-wide and individual school/college accreditation efforts.

• serves as the University’s official source of institutional data and coordinates the collection and reporting of data for a variety of external and internal purposes.

• assists faculty and staff in developing and implementing research and assessment initiatives for internal as well as sponsored research projects by providing the following services: consultation to determine outcomes and assessment methods; instrument development; data collection, entry, and/or processing; data analysis and interpretation; and reporting.
